Infidelity in Entertainment

It's only the second day of 2012; however, we couldn't help but notice some interesting trends in 2011.

The most interesting trend, in our opinion, was the fact that infidelity was running rampant in the entertainment industry (and had been all year). Yes, it's perfectly normal for celebrity couples to cheat on one another, that's been happening since the beginning of time (or at least since the invention of fame), but we're referring to infidelity on TV and in movies. Is this Hollywood's way of acknoledging that society is changing, or is it just a sneaky tactic to move plots along? Due to the abundance of on-air affairs, as well as the growing amount of real-life affairs, we think it's the former. In fact, according to an article in LA Weekly, sociologists agree!

Infidelity isn't just for soap operas or reality shows anymore, either. Nope, you can find infidels all over prime-time dramas and by the looks of it, the amount of affairs won't decrease anytime soon. This is because TV shows are fabricated to mirror reality, and the reality of society is that people's ideas about monogamy are changing, so of course our shows are going to reflect that!

So the next time you think about your boring old marriage, or your boring old life, just remember that it doesn't have to be that way. Your life can be as exciting and dangerous as the characters of your favorite show; it's not that far-fetched.
