Alleviate the stresses of the wedded bliss
The title of this article may sound like a complete oxymoron, but if you think about it, marriage, and even weddings themselves can be packed with unnecessary stress.
Stresses that can make you do crazy things if not dealt with properly. Some of those stresses are monetary, while others can be the result of children, inflated expectations, a lack of communication, and countless other issues that so often affect couples. It was monetary stress that led one Liverpool groom named Max Kay to set his wedding venue ablaze on June 19th,2011, one day prior to his wedding. Kay had been arguing with management all day about money, and what he did probably could have been prevented had he not been riddled with stress and frighteningly close to bankruptcy. Now that's no reason to burn down your wedding venue (or anything for that matter), but it's an excellent example of how extreme stress can lead people to do things that are unusual to make your big day easier, not harder.
When it comes to weddings, stress and emotions can be surging out of control. It's of the utmost importance to make a budget and stick to it. It's easy for couples to go overboard for what's supposed to be the best day of their lives, but it's absolutely vital to remember that the rest of your lives are a tiny bit more important than this one day. Furthermore, you've absolutely got to pay attention to your emotions. They'll be running wild, after all. Lastly, make sure that you surround yourself with people who are going to make your big day easier, not harder.
Once the wedding and honeymoon are over, there are a few things you can do to avoid marriage-related stress and the awkward situations that stress can get you into. Firstly, be open with each other. The statement refers to finances, expectations, wants, desires; the whole shebang. Just as important as being open with one another is the ability to be understanding. It's a strange world; deal with it. If your husband or wife comes forward with a fetish that they were too afraid to reveal, try to embrace it rather than letting it spoil your otherwise perfect relationship and putting you into a state of emotional turmoil. Same thing applies if your husband or wife tells you they have sexual feelings for someone else. Open marriages aren't for everyone, but on that same token, monogamy isn't a policy that works for all couples. Your marriage is yours to mold, adapt, and truly make your own. Adhering to a less rigid set of marital rules can make your matrimony much more pleasant, and being (and staying) on the same page as your spouse only helps to strengthen your union.
